After you updated to 1.29V did you check to see if you need to update the interface firmware as well or not.................?

There is a new J2534 firmware out, it is version 3.13.0.  It came out last week and the update is to fix communication issues.  Either connect J2534 module to PC or to scanner Via the USB connector, then use 12V power adapter to power J2534 and click on VCI update in scanner.
I have V1.29 loaded along with the latest firmware 3.13.0 and all my communication issues are fixed.

I think I have some how triggered a program that stops you using the j2534 VCI with
out paying for if? Now if seems its the VCI that's acting strange? If returns the pop up
window telling you to email support when you check the VCI firmware using usb, but it
says the VCI is upto date. You can power up the VCI with dc lead and 16 pin adapter
and all still works. When a car is connected to the vci it connects up and is stable too
until the time the program talks to the car then the maxiSys program just crashes.

Exactly what are you trying to do? Are you trying to program a module, if yes then you need an active subscription to get data files from Autel server.  Is this happening to all makes and models and is this happening just going into to look for codes?  Even if your subscription is expired you should still be able to use it with your existing software except ECU programming that requires Autel Data servers for ECU files.  If your subscription is still active, I would suggest a factory reset and erase SD card then reload all the software from system update,  If you already expired, then do not factory reset it because you will not have any software to download.

Did you try connecting to vehicle with the usb cable hooked up between J2534 and scanner, sometimes the bluetooth gets interference and is a little slower.

Thanks for that advice. I downloaded the maxiSys pc suite. Then installed the
bluetooth VCI firmware again. Was not clear had worked and I tried several times. But
the next day all restored to normal. Big Thanks.
